Best of Jordan – 10 Days

per person

Overview

Jordan is full of wonderful hiking trails, mountains,  canyons and we will explore the best hiking trails together in 10 days

This collection of trails are the hikers and professional adventure guides choice based on their experience for the last 20 years

Most of the hikes are the moderate ones with the most enjoyable environment, culture and the most beautiful areas starting from the north going to the south of Jordan

Jordan has three major physiographic regions (from east to west): the desert, the uplands east of the Jordan River, and the Jordan Valley (the northwest portion of the great East African Rift System).

The desert’s northern part is composed of volcanic lava and basalt, and its southern part of outcrops of sandstone and granite. The landscape is much eroded, primarily by wind. The uplands east of the Jordan River, an escarpment overlooking the rift valley, have an average elevation of 2,000–3,000 feet (600–900 metres) and rise to about 5900 feet (1,854 metres) at Mount Um Addami , Jordan’s highest point, in the south. Outcrops of sandstone, chalk, limestone, and flint extend to the extreme south, where igneous rocks predominate.

The Jordan Valley drops to about 1,410 feet (430 metres) below sea level at the Dead Sea, the lowest natural point on Earth’s surface.

We will enjoy the country’s beauty, and engage with people and culture and discover the geology.

Starting from the capital with it’s malls and souks and people, going to the most remote areas with its solitude and quietness.

From the capital’s most new and trendy choices to the oldest rock formations, heritage sites and bedouin traditions.

Day 1: Arrival to Amman - Amman tour
The city has so many must-see attractions, and things to do, that you can easily spend a pleasant day or two. Downtown Amman is a must-see. At the bottom of the city’s many hills and overlooked by the magisterial Citadel, it features spectacular Roman ruins, an international-standard museum and the hubbub of mosques, souqs and coffeehouses that are central to Jordanian life.   Elsewhere, urban western Amman has leafy residential districts, cafes, bars, modern malls and art galleries; and in earthy eastern Amman, it’s easy to sense the more traditional and conservative pulse of the capital. Pass by the hotel to get rid of your luggage then head to east of Amman to see it's beauty Will provide you with a digital map with all the attractions, restaurants, and must see places. Enjoy your adventure.

Day 2: Umm Qais
Leave Amman heading north to Umm Qais, In the northwestern corner of Jordan, in the hills above the Jordan Valley, are the ruins of the Decapolis city of Gadara, now called Umm Qais. The site is striking because of its juxtaposition of Roman ruins with an abandoned Ottoman-era village, as well as its tremendous vantage point, with views of three countries (Jordan, Syria, and Israel and the Palestinian Territories), encompassing the Golan Heights, Mt Hermon and the Sea of Galilee.   According to the Bible, it was here that Jesus performed the miracle of the Gadarene swine: casting the demons out of two men into a herd of pigs.   Today Umm Qais is at the forefront of community-tourism development in Jordan, and it's worth staying a night or two to enjoy an increasing array of options, from hiking and biking to beekeeping, foraging and cooking classes. You'll hike around the area to see all the  places mentioned above then after having a local lunch with the guide family we will go to Jordan valley to stay in Jordan eco park, a leading model of environmental eco tourism The reserve has multiple options for adventure, zip line, cycling, giant swing and they have an eco lodge so you can stay there.
