Description:
Early Morning: Depart from Amman by pre-arranged transportation towards Wadi Musa, the town closest to Petra then to Little Petra to start our hike from there
Hiking Highlights:
• Traverse scenic paths with breathtaking views of the Jordanian desert landscapes.
• Encounter Bedouin settlements and learn about their nomadic way of life (possible depending on the route).
• Witness the grandeur of the natural landscape surrounding Petra, contrasting with the man-made marvels ahead.
• Ascend through varied terrain, requiring a good level of fitness.
• Afternoon: Reach the Monastery, a majestic monument carved high into the mountainside. Enjoy a well-deserved rest and savor the panoramic views.
• Descending into Petra: Embark on the historic processional way, a series of steps carved by the Nabataeans, leading down to the heart of Petra.
• Petra Exploration: Explore other significant landmarks like the Royal Tombs, the Roman Theater, and other remnants of this ancient civilization (entrance fee not included).
Late Afternoon: After exploring Petra at your own pace, re-group at a designated location for your return transportation to Amman.
Evening: Arrive back in Amman (End of service)
Important Considerations:
• This program requires a very early start from Amman to ensure sufficient time for the hike and exploration of Petra.
• Be sure to bring ample water, snacks, and sun protection for the hike.
• Sturdy hiking shoes with good ankle support are essential.
• Due to the one-day nature of the trip, exploring the entirety of Petra may be limited. Consider adding another day to fully experience the wonders of the ancient city.
